Meet Ellie
She is a sweet, energetic, curious puppy who is very eager to please and learn. She is treat motivated, and really loves being with her foster humans and dog friends. She follows them everywhere! She is not a fan of being alone. She especially loves being outside, playing with toys, wrestling with dog friends, chewing sticks, and digging in the puppy sandbox. She does really well on a leash and harness, and is gaining confidence going on walks with another dog friend along. She is a very quick learner ( treat training), and already knows sit, down, her name, and to come when called, unless she is really busy playing! She is a puppy after all.
She sleeps through the night in a kennel (7-8 hrs),as long as she is in the bedroom, in view of foster mom. She is working on being in her kennel for very short periods of time during the day, with a peanut butter Kong or something special to chew.
Ellie is shy/timid when meeting or seeing new humans. She warms up to new people - a bit quicker if she has a confident dog friend leading the way. She has been working hard every day, learning to meet/trust humans And gaining confidence in new situations and surroundings. She will do best with an active family that can continue to help her socialize (puppy classes), and learn that humans are good, and they just want to give her pets and treats. Also, she is simply adorable!

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners. Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
