Meet Cannoli and Mousse, a charming bonded pair of longhaired dachshunds who grew up together in a loving home, but (due to their previous owners’ health challenges) are now seeking a forever family to love them both.

• Mousse: An 8-year-old, blue-eyed, 14-pound sweetheart. Mousse can be shy and might dribble a bit if alarmed by loud noises or new situations, but he quickly follows his braver uncle Cannoli’s lead. His alopecia necessitates warm sweaters, but honestly this makes him even cuter! Despite missing most of his teeth, Mousse loves all kinds of food, almost-fetch, and racing around during outdoor time.

• Cannoli: A 9-year-old, green-eyed, 18-pound beauty with a heartwarming personality. Although opinionated about food and weather, he’ll eventually do anything his humans ask of him, and he loves nothing more than napping on top of his people. Calmer than his nephew Mousse, Cannoli nevertheless enjoys brisk walks and seems quite perceptive, clearly understanding more than basic commands. Mousse often steals the show, but Cannoli ends up stealing hearts.

Both dogs are well-behaved, potty on command, and crate very well (though they happily sleep in their humans’ bed when allowed). They get along great with other dogs and cats, and they turn heads on the street with their adorable looks and loving personalities. Give this delightful doxie duo a chance to fill your home with love and joy!

**Note on breed and age determination: 

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners.  Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.

 

ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:

• Wellness check
• Spay/neuter (puppies adopted with required spay/neuter certificate)
• Age appropriate vaccines - rabies and distemper combo 
• Heartworm test if over 7 months of age
• Fecal test and/or deworming for parasites
• Microchip ​

~ Healing Hearts rescue will also provide dental procedures, bloodwork, surgeries, and/or any other additional vet work as needed while dogs are in our care.
