I am a quiet, cautious little lady, and my foster mom likes to call me Dessie. I was skeptical of her and foster dad for the first few weeks at their house. I had just come from living my life in a small dark cage, so this big bright world with no apparent ceilings was quite a shock to me. But after a few weeks, I figured out that foster mom always cuddles with and loves on me, while foster dad comes home around dinner time with all kinds of tasty treats; like chicken, burger, sausage and/or bacon. He is quite the meat dispensing machine!

I live with their four resident small dogs but I like Arthur, their little old Maltese, the most. He is very quiet and shy, like me, so I try to play with him, which he wants nothing of. I sleep in my kennel, where it's nice and quiet and I feel safe. I use the potty pad right outside my kennel. I've been spending my afternoons outside with my roommates and learning all about this strange new world. I run lots and lots of circles around the yard to dispense with my nervous energy. It keeps me in peak physical condition! :-)

**Note on breed and age determination: 

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners.  Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.

ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:

• Wellness check
• Spay/neuter (puppies adopted with required spay/neuter certificate)
• Age appropriate vaccines - rabies and distemper combo 
• Heartworm test if over 7 months of age
• Fecal test and/or deworming for parasites
• Microchip ​

~ Healing Hearts rescue will also provide dental procedures, bloodwork, surgeries, and/or any other additional vet work as needed while dogs are in our care.
