Dog friendly: Yes, initially shy and hesitant but truly loves being around a big dog

Cat friendly: Unknown/not tested
Kid friendly: Yes
Potty trained: Very close, but still has a few accidents
Crate trained: Stays for 6+ hours in a crate pretty easily but loves being left out alone even more. Has not chewed up anything she isn't supposed to and is very well behaved.

Opel is a pretty chill puppy for being 4-5 months old.  This German Shephard mix came from the reservation and was initially very intimidated by our big dog but warmed up to her right away and now she loves to have a big playmate around!  She's been wonderful with kids and does not have much "puppy energy."  She enjoys being held for short amounts of time and her favorite activity is napping in the sunshine on a dog bed.  She doesn't bark much unless she sees other animals outside.  She doesn't love her crate overnight but is getting much better and adjusting to it.  She also hasn't chewed anything up except for her designated dog toys which is impressive for her age!  Her personality is laid back while still playful and she's also a cuddler.  She's loves being outside and is very food motivated so should be very trainable.  She'll make a wonderful addition for just about any family!

**Note on breed and age determination: 

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners.  Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.

ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:

• Wellness check
• Spay/neuter (puppies adopted with required spay/neuter certificate)
• Age appropriate vaccines - rabies and distemper combo 
• Heartworm test if over 7 months of age
• Fecal test and/or deworming for parasites
• Microchip ​

~ Healing Hearts rescue will also provide dental procedures, bloodwork, surgeries, and/or any other additional vet work as needed while dogs are in our care.
