This handsome hound (note the black eyeliner) was rescued from an Iowa shelter where he spent most of his life. He is living the good life now and has really come out of his shell.

Forest sleeps through the night on his dog bed and is reliably potty trained.  When we are gone, he has the run of the house, up to 4 hours, with our resident female Goldendoodle.

He has been around our grandchildren, ranging in age from 3-7 and done consistently well.  He loves all women he meets but can be initially fearful of some men so he will bark until he knows they are “safe.” He has done very well with “pack walks” to help with new introductions.

His favorite activities are going for his daily sniffy walks, car rides, snoozing on the sofa and playing with our frisky resident dog.  He is my curious, silent shadow and accompanies me on my household chores (he may have ulterior motives with my kitchen chores).  Now that spring is here, he appears to be an avid gardener and loves to help prepare my garden beds with fresh holes. He is always ready to go on adventures with us.

Forest will make someone very happy with his calm affectionate nature.

**Note on breed and age determination:

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners.  Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.

ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:
