Hi, I’m Deke! I’ve been told I’m very smart and well-behaved for my age. However, I do still have puppy energy and would really enjoy having a dog friend to play with, a fenced yard, or someone who will take me on lots of walks and adventures. I do like to try to chase rabbits, so you will need to hold my leash firmly and tell me no! I haven’t been to the dog park yet, but my foster parents tell me I would really enjoy it. I want to become best friends with every dog I meet, and while I have a bit too much energy for my foster family’s 12-year-old resident dog, she still loves me and lets me give her kisses. My favorite things include food, treats, chew toys, belly rubs, walks, and any sort of play/training time (I think I would like puppy classes!). I am very treat-motivated. I am also potty-trained and I sleep through the night. Right now, I nap in my crate while my foster parents are at work, but they think I could be left to roam once I become more comfortable in my new home. I can be a little mouthy when I'm excited, but I'm beginning to understand that's not okay. My foster parents absolutely adore me and think I would be a great addition to any family, however they are not so sure I would be great with young kids yet because I am still very bouncy.

**Note on breed and age determination: 

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners.  Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.

ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:

• Wellness check
• Spay/neuter (puppies adopted with required spay/neuter certificate)
• Age appropriate vaccines - rabies and distemper combo 
• Heartworm test if over 7 months of age
• Fecal test and/or deworming for parasites
• Microchip ​

~ Healing Hearts rescue will also provide dental procedures, bloodwork, surgeries, and/or any other additional vet work as needed while dogs are in our care.
