Miss Marilyn is a lovely little lady who thoroughly enjoys attention and her adoring fans. She has excellent manners in the house with the exception of being vocal about her human leaving. Marilyn is making progress with training to address her separation anxiety. New experiences can be overwhelming for Marilyn and her response is to tremble. She is very unsure and needs time and patience. Marilyn is a very smart girl and she figures things out. Because she was under-socialized, her life experiences were limited and new experience can be overwhelming for her. She is learning a lot in this big new world. Marilyn does puzzle toys with treats inside. She sits for her food dish to be placed in front of her. Marilyn also walks on a treadmill and regularly visits the residents in an assisted living facility. She is incredibly gentle and loving to people.
She is making very good progress with sleeping in her crate. She can be vocal the first 15 minutes when the foster family leaves for errands. She is very quiet in the kennel when the family members return to the house.
It is very important to consider the training needs for her. She wants to learn and she wants to please her family. Marilyn needs continued support for separation anxiety and that can mean medicine. A patient owner committed to training will be ideal for helping Marilyn continue to blossom into a confident dog.
Adoption Fee: $595

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners. Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
