**FENCED YARD AND ANOTHER DOG IN HOME REQUIRED**
Sweet Hayes has had a tough start and is looking for a forever family that will understand he needs some time to adjust and get confident! He's very cautious around new people, but with a little time he gets more comfortable with them. He’s a very sweet dog and once he gets comfortable is always looking for love, pets, and scratches! He loves to be outside in the fenced in yard playing in the snow. Hayes also loves playing with stuffed animals both small and large. He will walk on the leash, but he gets a little leery when you are trying to put the leash on him. He will need continued work on his leash confidence! Hayes is doing well with potty training if someone is at home, but when left alone, he may have an accident, or mark certain areas of the house. He's not confident in the kennel, but he hasn't been destructive when left out. He’s got his “safe corner” in the house that he runs to whenever he feels a little nervous to calm him down. He loves to carry shoes around the house and greet people! He typically will just drop them, but if they're furry, they might seem like a toy for chewing! Loud noises and car rides are pretty scary for Hayes, so he will need reassurance during storms or fireworks. He does require another dog of similar size in the home for reassurance and to keep teaching him how to be a dog and a very secure physical fence. He's come a long way in rescue, and will continue to flourish in a forever home with love and patience!

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners. Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
