Hi there. I’m Reina. I’m from down south, where I didn’t see a lot of snow, but once I came to Minnesota I realized I can’t wait for next winter. I love walks & sniffing all the things. I want to meet all the humans and dogs I see. I already have one bestie dog in the neighborhood, and can easily get along with any dog, as long as they’re willing to meet me. If I pull too hard, you can tell me to “Stop,” and I’ll wait for you to say “And go.” Frequent walks and play time are a requirement for me, a dog park would be amazing! A home with a fenced yard would be my dream. A home on a quiet street is safest for me.
I know basic stuff, like Sit, Stay, Come and Down. I'm so smart and eager to please. I love to play with my humans. I currently have an 11-year-old human brother. He’s awesome! He plays with me and rubs my belly. Because I get so excited, kids his age or older would be best. I don’t want to injure anyone, especially tiny humans. On that note, another dog in the house is great, but would have to be half my size or more. Chihuahuas, beagles, etc., would not like my energy level.
Even though I love to stay active, I also enjoy a good nap. My foster dad lets me sleep on the furniture, but if you prefer, I can easily sleep in my kennel or in a dog bed. Sunny spots near the window are super cozy. If I can use up my energy each day, you can let me free roam in the house when you’re gone for several hours. If you are not a fan of dog slobber, you’re in luck! I don’t give many kisses, but I do love hugs! My big muscles always appreciate a good massage, too. I’ll take all the rubbies you can give.
Whatever mix of dogs I am, I have herding instinct. My foster dad thinks I might make a good rescuer, because I am good at playing hide and seek with my brother. When the doorbell rings, I won’t bark. In fact, I’m fairly quiet. Everyone that appears at the door is my new friend. I’m learning not to jump on newcomers. This might not make me a good guard dog, but I know when my humans are vulnerable. One time, my dad was walking me in the winter (oh how I miss winter) and he fell on the ice. I got my front paws on him, scanning the perimeter. It is my duty to keep my humans safe, so that’s what I do!
Side note: I do shed but I guess people are supposed to know about that. A good brushing every couple days helps a lot.
I can't wait to meet you!

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners. Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
