If I can sing, this would be exactly how I would introduce myself! My name is Emi, I am a 6 yr old Lhasa-poo, although my foster mom told
me that I can easily pass off as just an extremely gorgeous looking poodle.
This is my poignant story. I grew up in a puppy mill with the rest of my ya-ya sisterhood in Missouri in a small confined living quarter which they called kennel. Life was tough but the bond with my canine friends had helped me pull through many of those hard times.
I was amongst the lucky ones along with a few of my friends to be saved and transported to Minnesota.

In order to watch and learn how to be a member of the family who is actually loved by their human parents, I would need to live the rest of my life in a home with canine siblings who can lead and guide me. In full disclosure, I am still potty training in process. I can’t quite decide how I want to cue my foster mom if I need to use the bathroom. I have no accidents in the house if I am reminded to go out every now and then (about 2-3 hours during the day). I am able to sleep through the night with my foster mom on her bed without having to interrupt her dreaming.

I enjoy following my foster mom around the house and I am not shy about complaining if I am not included in what she is doing.
I am constantly hungry although I am beginning to learn that I have options on my choice of food, instead of gobbling down anything that is put in front of me just because I didn’t know when my next meal will come.

I get along with my foster canine siblings very well although I am still a little hesitant of new humans, big or small as I am not sure I can fully trust everyone’s intentions yet but I am definitely curious of new faces.
So I would need a family who is more patient and empathetic towards pooch like me, as I have low to zero human interactions my whole life up till now.

I am actually a goofy one at heart!My ears flap up and down to show that I am paying attention to you when you have a serious conversation with me.

**Note on breed and age determination: 

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners.  Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.

 

ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:

• Wellness check
• Spay/neuter (puppies adopted with required spay/neuter certificate)
• Age appropriate vaccines - rabies and distemper combo 
• Heartworm test if over 7 months of age
• Fecal test and/or deworming for parasites
• Microchip ​

~ Healing Hearts rescue will also provide dental procedures, bloodwork, surgeries, and/or any other additional vet work as needed while dogs are in our care.
