Emma Lou is as cute a button and sweet as they come! She is a 6-year-old Lhasa Apso who survived a puppy mill in Missouri. She has made lot of progress to being around humans since she came. She was not too sure about humans, and she would run away so that you weren’t able to catch her without having a leash on her at all times. Now she has been learning sit, she will go a little way before she sits so that you can pick her up. She will sit on your lap for petting and loving for an hour or two at a time and will sleep in bed with you. Emma Lou has had some setbacks when it comes to potty training but is better on a schedule, she is unsure how to let people know that she needs to go. She will need her people to have patience and understanding that is she still learning how and what it means to be a pet. Emma Lou has been spayed, teeth cleaned and has had three mammary gland tumors removed. But she now has a clean bill of health from her vet. Emma Lou gets along well with the other dogs in the home; they are helping her become more confident and teaching her how to play with them and toys. Emma enjoys being outside and laying in the sun, running, playing/chasing the other dogs. She would do best with another dog in the home and a fenced yard so she could run and play. She has not been around young children and would do best in a home without young children.
