**FENCED YARD REQUIRED **
Hi my name is Jack and I've had a rough start on life. My rescue friends aren't really sure what my history is but life was obviously not great before I was saved. I’m such a sweetheart but absolutely scared to death of humans. I will lay by you and let you touch me, but as soon as you get up to move, I run and hide as I'm not quite sure yet what will happen next and it scares me.
My foster mom has a leash on me all the time so she doesn't have to catch me if I get too scared to come. My new home might have to do this for awhile. My new family will have to have a lot of patience with me. I have never growled or tried to bite even though I am so scared some times I wet the floor. Being a Jack Russell I must decide things on my own and I've decided that sleeping in bed with foster mom is a lot better then being alone behind the chair. It might sound like a lot of work, but I promise I'm worth it.
I love toys but will only play with them when it seems like no one is watching. I also love food so my foster mom has been spoiling me with treats to try to make him more comfortable. Bananas and raw carrots are my jam!
I get along great with all dogs and cats too. My rescue friends actually say that I will require confident smaller dog in my forever home to help me learn to trust those scary humans more. Kids kind of scare me so I'd prefer a home without them. I'm not mean to them so a visit now and then would be fine, but not all the time.
Due to my flight risk potential, I will require a very safe, secure fenced yard in my forever home. I'm only about twelve pounds so make sure all those small gaps are closed. My foster momma says I'm a pretty handsome guy and that I'm doing pretty well on my potty training. I will go out in the fenced yard by myself but sometimes I need a little help to get back inside.
I want so badly to be loved.
I hope you have the patience and love for me so I can find my forever family. It's all I've every wanted.

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners. Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
