Foley is the sweetest, calmest, gentlest dog around cats, kids, other dogs, and all adults. He wants to be near his people to share your space or to have his head scratched or belly rubbed. He desires to please people and respects a firm "no." He is very quiet and only barks when stressed or excited to play with another dog. He thrives on the structure of two walks per day and spends the rest of his time playing with his stuffed toys, chewing on marrow bones, lounging in the grass outside or on dog beds inside. He is happiest playing with other dogs, but doesn't yet know how to play with humans. He is smart enough to learn if modeled by another dog. He is also submissive to other dogs. He is very intelligent and would do well in obedience school or any other training to engage his mind and keep him stimulated rather than anxious.
Foley is potty trained on a schedule. He will need some positive reinforcement to crate training but does well uncrated for 10 hours a night with no problems. During the day, when left alone, he can sometimes be destructive to shoes, books, furniture, etc. He would do best in a family with another dog for a companion and playmate and a large fenced yard, or with a family with someone who works from home and can slowly work on crate training
Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners. Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
