Hi, I'm Ernie! I am just the sweetest, goofiest old man you ever did meet. I may be 11, but don't let that fool you - I still love to play with toys and get the zoomies every now and then. I love going on walks, to the dog park, and even to State parks with my fosters - sniffing everything is my favorite thing to do. The more weight I lose, the more energy I get so I need someone who is willing to commit to helping me continue my diet so I can live more years and spend my golden years happy, active, and healthy. My foster mom has my diet figured out so ask her to ensure that I keep losing weight!
I also love my naps and my snores are the cutest. I sleep through the night and won't wake you up at the crack of dawn (benefits to an old guy who's been around the block once or twice). You may even have to get me out of bed! As an old guy, I will also let you know when I need to go outside by barking at the door, but I also take advantage of being outside whenever you take me out so I will easily adjust to your schedule. I love to be in the room with my people, but I'm not needy and will happily snooze on the couch while you are doing other stuff. I'm not a huge barker, though I do bark every now and then and you will hear my beagle come out, but really, I'm a very quiet boy (other than when I'm quietly snoring), and am very easy to care for.
I am super friendly and love all other dogs. I even love the puppies I have met and wag my tail and want to play with them! I am also not scared of anything as I am so chill so vacuums and thunderstorms don't phase me. I am a little bit of a scoundrel as I'm super smart! I know where foster mom hides the treats and I learned how to break into the treat cupboard so she had to baby(Ernie)-proof it. To keep me on track of losing weight, I shouldn't get too many treats even though I'll tell you I need them!
