Ella is a sweet little 35lbs basset hound mix that loves people. She has a typical sassy hound dog demeanor and likes to bark at people and dogs that walk by the fence or house but is quiet in her crate. She loves her own space and things because she’s probably never had them before being brought into rescue.  She likes to spend down time lounging in her crate or a quite room but does not mind the craziness in her busy foster home. She likes to be surrounded by her favorite things and will bring your shoe or dog toys into her crate to lay with them. Ella is not destructive and is very gentle with her toys while at the same time enjoying a good marrow bone or tendon chew.  Ella is very good natured and will give her toy to our younger dog versus playing tug and we are working on learning fetch.  She has super sweet, loving reaction to people and loves all people.  She is very friendly and adores the resident dogs in our home who are 3m, 18m and 14.5yrs.  Ella just finished raising her last litter of nine puppies in March and is ready to be the center of attention! Ella loves kids and does well with all ages, men, women and visitors. She is generally a mellow girl that likes to play and lounge.  Due to her mellow nature and genetics Ella would do best in a home that walked her daily or had a playful adult dog in the home to keep her active and at a healthy weight. This sweet girl loves to sit by you when you watch tv, work on the computer or cook dinner. If Ella sounds like the perfect dog for you please apply today!

**Note on breed and age determination:

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners.  Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
