Rachel came to Healing Hearts pregnant, delivered and weaned nine beautiful puppies, and is now ready to find her very own perfect forever!

Full of energy, Rachel is an affectionate and lovable pocket pittie mix, at a petite 42 pounds.  She loves being around people and giving lots of hugs and kisses.  She is a full-body contact hugger!  This means that she will stand up to give you hugs (somehow this is very gentle).  She LOVES toys and playing, and will often play catch with herself, but prefers to play with her people or other dogs.  She is friendly with most dogs (the exception being dominant males who get in her space) and loves to run and play with them.

Rachel would love a household who will take her to obedience classes so she can learn to be the very best girl...she aims to please and is very responsive to verbal commands.  Now that she has her energy back from raising all those puppies, her foster mom found out that she pulls on a leash...and she is strong!  She’s just started working on leash manners, but it’s tricky when there are so many bunnies and squirrels and birds to chase!  She would love a fenced in yard to sniff and play and run, and commitment from her people to get plenty of exercise.

Rachel is crate trained (when she’s alone and bored, she can get into mischief, so crating is a good option!) and potty trained on a schedule.

If you are looking for a loving and playful companion, a champion snuggler, and a dog who will greet you with joy whenever she sees you, Rachel is your girl!

**Note on breed and age determination:

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners.  Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
