Penelope or as her friends call her, Perfect Penny, is a senior girl with a lot of love & life left to give.
Penny’s a great dog that will thrive in almost any home, apartment or townhouse. Shared walls should not be a problem. She’d make a great first dog for someone or a great dog for someone not very active themself. She loves walks but they don’t need to be long ones. I have a fenced yard & we are always on leash when outside the fence. Penny has good recall when in the fenced yard & doesn’t pull on her leash. Very easy to have around.
Penny has perfect house manners in every way that includes protecting the house from the potential intruders walking by, aka she will bark at people walking by. She responds immediately to “Penny, hush”. No need to yell just speak in a normal tone. Loud noises & lots of kerfuffle may not be the best fit for Penny. Although she loves a good cat chase, a loud voice will send her to her kennel almost immediately. She seems unaffected by sirens, thunder & the few fireworks we’ve been hearing lately.
Penny loves a good dog bed, the couch & a kennel. I use a canvas play pen kind of thing & penny eats & sleeps in it. We have another dog & I like to give each of them their own private space, although both of them get along very well & have no conflicts. Penny is also good with cats.
Penny loves pets. If she needs some & you aren’t reactive on her timetable, she will paw at your hand until you catch up. Being a senior girl, she is finely tuned into how to get what she wants.
