Teddy is a great dog eager to find a home that can give him structure! He is a playful boy and mostly well behaved with a lot of love to give to people! He graduated from Obedience Boot Camp as an adolescent and knows basic commands like sit, stay, and leave it.
Teddy loves the outdoors and exploring, especially to look for squirrels. He is quite strong and has a tendency to pull at times but Teddy is a willing learner and could definitely get better on walks with some regular experience. Teddy does like to play with other dogs and he does well at the dog park and has done well at doggy day care in the past. He seems to have endless energy, but will be ready to leave whenever you are. Even though he loves playing with other dogs, he however, would do best in a home without another dog since he tends to resource guard food and toys.
He really likes to be by his owner(s) as much as possible! Teddy also likes toys including small balls for fetch. Teddy is also a big lazy bum around the house and doesn’t mind relaxing when he’s not playing. He doesn’t bark much, but he can get startled at times (though he’s usually easy to redirect). Teddy loves to be around people, but small children should be avoided due to uncertain stimulus and interactions from them.
Teddy is fully potty trained and does well in a crate, based on past owner experiences. Teddy had some resource guarding tendencies, that seem manageable with the right structure and training in place. He is food motivated and is a willing learner that would be a lot of fun for the right owner that will put in the time. He’s a smart boy!

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners. Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
