Husky's and German Shepard's are known to be highly active dogs. They're also known to be working dogs too. Both breeds are highly intelligent and have very active minds. They need activity and stimulation to slow things down and make sure they are on their best behavior. Flower or as foster mom calls her, Luna, has had a lot of training to give her the confidence she needs and remove any behavior issues she had when coming back into rescue. She is the best girl and does well on a schedule. She would do best in an active household. She loves walks and would enjoy hiking and smelling all the good smells of nature. She loves car rides with her nose out the window. She is learning to use her nose rather than barking.

Flower is a typical husky and loves to talk when she wants something or happy to see you. She is kennel trained but would do best in a home where she wouldn't be kenneled for extensive periods of time. Luna is treadmill trained and knows commands like sit, down, OK, stay. She takes treats very gently and loves to play fetch. She does well on a tie out but would love a fenced yard to play in. We've been working on her training daily and her new forever family would need to be willing to continue that. She a total love bug and believes she's a lap dog too. Luna really is a phenomenal dog and would make an active family really happy. Luna does take a medication that helps her control her anxiety. It is expected that an adopter will continue this.

**Note on breed and age determination: 

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners.  Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.

 

ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:

• Wellness check
• Spay/neuter (puppies adopted with required spay/neuter certificate)
• Age appropriate vaccines - rabies and distemper combo 
• Heartworm test if over 7 months of age
• Fecal test and/or deworming for parasites
• Microchip ​

~ Healing Hearts rescue will also provide dental procedures, bloodwork, surgeries, and/or any other additional vet work as needed while dogs are in our care.
