Age: Approximately 4.5 years old Weight: 70 pounds Dog friendly: Yes, good with dogs of all sizes Cat friendly: Fine, paid no attention at the vet Kid friendly: Older kids are better since they are calmer Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Does not need a fenced in yard Hi I’m Gretchen! My foster mama calls me her beautiful lady, her princess and her dancing queen. At home you can find me smiling and following my people around to see what they are doing. I’m also perfectly fine doing my own thing and will lay in the living room watching out the window seeing what’s going on in the neighborhood. Honestly it’s pretty quiet out there since we live in a small town. Haha! I love going outside and I dance while I wait for my mama to leash me up. Outside I love to sniff the air and gaze around the neighborhood. If there is snow on the ground I like to shove my nose down in the piles to see if there’s anything interesting to smell. When I look up my mama laughs because I’m covered in snow. I don’t like being outside for too long when it’s super cold though so I make sure to do my business really fast! I love my foster mama and my tail wags like crazy when she’s around. She gives me hugs and lots of scratches and my tail just keeps wagging. I go to her all the time for pets. I love my foster dad too. He had to work a little harder to win me over but he gives the best butt scratches and gives me treats! I reward him with smiles and even a little hand kiss sometimes. I have a bit of hip dysplasia so I unfortunately need to have short walks or I get sore. I’m on meds to help with any pain and will need to continue those for life. I eat them right down with my food so you don’t have to figure out how to hide them from me. If you have a tall vehicle I can’t jump in though I will try. It’s best to have me put my front paws up and then you scoop up my rump to push me up and in. I’m a good girl in the car and will lie down quietly for the ride. I can be shy in new situations so I just need a gentle bit of encouragement and then I say to myself ok I can do this and I do it! Please keep in mind that I just need a little time and patience when I go to my new home at first before you see the true me, but you will be rewarded when you see me prancing around your house with my happy smile that lights up my beautiful eyes. As an added bonus I can also tell you that I am totally kennel trained, walk nice on leash, am great with other dogs though I don’t play with them yet and am potty trained.

Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
