Casper is an amazing guy who impresses everyone who meets him. He is affectionate with his humans and adored by his furry sibs. Casper loves humans and especially getting pets. He has dazzled his foster family with his ability to master potty training as well as 30 minute strolls on the treadmill. Casper is also a smartie pants who quickly figured out leash walking, climbing up and down steep wooden stairs, and navigating the home environment. He quickly learned the following commands: upstairs, downstairs, inside, outside, go potty, kennel, time to eat, pick up and this way.
Grooming is a breeze with Casper because he is so patient and loves all kinds of touch. He is the perfect gentleman at bath time and loves being wrapped in a towel. Any form of cuddling is perfectly AOK with Casper. He is great about getting nails trimmed and everything else about grooming and keeping him looking so handsome.
Casper has been working hard at learning to walk again after hip surgery and his progress is spectacular. He does hip stretches 3x day with his human. He works out on the treadmill and does his physical therapy exercises everyday so he can show off the results of his hard work. One of his favorite things is getting to warm up his hip muscles with the heating pad. He has mastered the exercise routine and one of his favorite activities is laying on the heating pad. Wouldn't we all love that part? Casper loves walking around the neighborhood at a brisk pace. He is very happy to take long walks with his human. If you're a pro-walker and would love a walking buddy, Casper is your guy. He is ready to join you on your walks and show you his excellent leash walking skills.
If you are looking for the perfect companion, Casper will be your best buddy. He will enjoy your companionship at home or on the road. He has learned so many things in his short time as a foster. Casper responds best to an "Alpha" personality who is diligent about using consistent commands. His foster mom says Casper is easy to direct and to correct when his misbehaves. Casper is compliant with specific tasks (e.g. sitting for his food dish to be placed in front of him) and on the ball about remember the household routine. He loves napping next to his foster dad on the sofa or lounging on his dog bed while foster mom works at her desk. His foster sisters (poodles) love him and think he's the sweetest, funniest guy. His winning personality is just too hard to resist... and for extra points, he is just plain handsome. Casper has lovely personality and is looking for the loving family to match.
