Hi, hi, hi, I’m  Deena ! Ah! I’m so excited that you’re here! I absolutely LOVE people and I’m so excited to meet new friends, friend!

I love my people, and I’m not afraid to say it! I like to voice my happiness with little squeaks and peeps of joy. I will dance a happy dance, spin in circles, and jump up on you so that you can pet me easier. I’m really thoughtful like that! I also love me some belly rubs!

I excel at home living and love everything it has to offer.  I am kennel trained, but I do like to have some extra space to really stretch out while I nap. Sometimes, if I hear you, I’ll let out little peeps because I’m ready for you to let me out so that I can love on you! I am also potty trained on a schedule in my foster home. I am good friends with the 8 year old human in my foster home, and usually if you ask, "Where's Deena?" You'll hear the child call out, "she's with me!" I like her. She's pretty mellow, for being 8, and I like to keep my eye on her and make sure she's safe. You see, sometime in my past one of my eyes got damaged.  It's likely an older injury, since I get around like any two-eyed dog would. I'm not going to let it slow me down!

I am working on developing friendships with the other dogs in my foster home. They are very forward, and I can’t always read their body language the best. I need slow introductions with new dogs my size or larger so that I can learn that they are well-intentioned. I have met the sassy Yorkie in my foster home and she has created a friendly agreement that we won’t intermingle. I am okay with that, and I am most comfortable with her because she tends to keep to herself. I  do best meeting  new dogs on a walk! Did someone say, “walk”!?! I love to go for a good walk! I am friends with all dogs on a walk, even the ones that are too forward at home. I have also met the cats in my foster home, and I really like them!

I would love to be your one and only (and I promise that I have enough love to give), I am also willing to share you with kitties and/or a patient doggy sibling. Can I give all my love to you?

**Note on breed and age determination: 

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners.  Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.

ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:

• Wellness check
• Spay/neuter (puppies adopted with required spay/neuter certificate)
• Age appropriate vaccines - rabies and distemper combo 
• Heartworm test if over 7 months of age
• Fecal test and/or deworming for parasites
• Microchip ​

~ Healing Hearts rescue will also provide dental procedures, bloodwork, surgeries, and/or any other additional vet work as needed while dogs are in our care.
