Hi, I'm Samson, and I'm a Great Dane who just arrived in MN. I'm a big, tall boy at 110 pounds, and it's estimated that I'm around 4 years old, though no one's sure since I was found as a stray in Texas.
So far I'm settling in to my foster home very well, though I'm a bit nervous as I get used to all the changes in my life. I'm potty trained and am good about going as soon as I get outside! I'm working on getting used to my kennel - at first I was very scared but in the last day or so I've started to go in there willingly. Once I'm in, I'm quiet and I wait patiently to be let out. Speaking of quiet, my foster parents haven't even heard me bark yet!
I am getting along well with my foster dog siblings, but it's unknown how I'd be with cats. I love my treats (and I take them gently!) and getting pet from everyone. I already know sit and am excited to learn some new commands in my new home.
I'm working on walking on a leash - sometimes I pull, and sometimes I'm a bit worried about who's around me, but I know I'll get the hang of it soon. I don't currently live with kids, and I would probably be ok with them (I'm a gentle giant) but due to my size I might do best in a home with older children.
I'd love to meet you to see if you're my perfect forever family!
Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners. Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
