Hi I’m Jill, my foster parents call me Chili because I get really cold in the winter. I'm about to celebrate my 3rd birthday, but I still have all the energy and playfulness of a puppy! I’m a very sweet and smart girl and can't wait to find my special forever family!

I’m crate trained and potty trained, if you say “kennel” I’ll go right in and lay down. I'm great with people. I love making new friends. Sometimes I will gently jump up and hug new people I just meet, but if they tell me to sit I will listen. I'm working really hard on containing my excitement around new people and dogs. I may be big, but I’m a lap dog at heart. I love to cuddle, and will lay on your lap all day if you let me.

I love to run and play with my toys. I like to get a little rowdy when I play, and if I can't find my toys I might grab a shoe. My foster mom says it’s just because I want attention. If I get too excited, my foster mom taught me how to calm down before we keep playing. Like most active dogs, it’s important that I am stimulated to keep me out of trouble. Some of my favorite things are Kong toys with frozen peanut butter, and games where I get to find treats. My foster parents feed me my meals in kong ball so I get to work extra hard for my food! I also need lots of exercise! Runs, play, and fun! I'm all in!

I need a strong pack leader that helps me learn and sets boundaries for me. The first week with me will be the trickiest because I'll try to push the boundaries and see what you'll let me get away with! But as soon as you teach me what's good and bad I will try to follow the rules and be the best girl. Even though I'm good with kids, I feel my best home would be without kids as I might try to take advantage of them as a leader of my pack.

I’ve been working really hard  on obedience training! Not to brag, but I know how to sit, shake with both paws, stay and lay down. I'm a good girl when I walk on a leash at home, but new places make me really excited! I’m getting used to using a gentle leader to help me stay focused. With a little more training, I'll be a good girl wherever I go.

I would do best being the only pet in my forever home or someone who is very committed to helping me learn to co-exist with a male dog my size as I do think I have potential to be a great playmate to another male doggie friend.  I also would benefit from consistent and structured training as I continue to be the best girl for you and your family.

Adoption Fee: $195

**Note on breed and age determination:

Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners.  Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
